I broke the ice on their drinking water, as it was lightly frozen. It wasn’t really cold with a minus 2 C and soon the snow all melted once the temperatures came above 0 C.
I covered up all the siding with tarps. I also tried to repair the zipper on the white shelter, but that didn’t hold. I just hope it won’t rip more.
The rain barrels are emptied again. Soon I have to take them down and put them upside down until Spring.
Sheri came over and we fit the dressage saddle on Flicka and it seems to fit. So now I can ride her again which is nice.
I went to Sheri’s place for a bit and we spend some time with her horses. She has 2 foals, and we spend some ‘be together’ time with them. We were sitting in the round pen and just let the babies come to us and explore us. It was really nice. Baby horses are so cute!
Monday I went to the well. After filling up all bottles and bowls, I still had some water left over and I was planning to fill up some more bottles once they were empty and keep the water tank on the truck.
Then we got more snow, and frost, and the little tap was of course frozen. But yesterday afternoon it thawed out and I could empty the water tank and put it back on the table.
Monday I went to visit Melinda, my neighbour on the north side. When I arrived they were just having the hoof trimmer over so we talked while the last horse got done. She has two beautiful horses.
She showed me a nice barn they just build and also showed me how their house worked on solar power. Very cool.
We made even some music together after a nice cup of herb tea. Melinda plays beautifully the violin and I played on the electronic piano. Amazing that all can go on solar power! But of course they have huge solar panels and batteries.
It was awesome to make music together. We played Silent Night and it was so much fun.
I followed the planets Venus, Jupiter and Mars and it’s so cool to see them ‘dancing’ around each other.
Tuesday was a rainy day, and Sheri and I went to Yorkton to do some groceries.
A perfect day for doing that, as it was wet damp cold weather.
I came across a cheap left over piece of linoleum. I’m going to put that around the kitchen area. It will protect the floor against splashes from doing dishes and washing etc. Can not go wrong for 15 dollars. Hahaha.
I also got my mail when we came through Canora. My sister had send me a beautiful card and a box with many cute presents. How thoughtful!
I love all the cute and beautiful presents, put together with so much love and care, each accompanied with a little note.
Thank you so much Inge, for your gifts. I love them and you!
