What a beautiful day was it again. Sunny, a nice breeze, blue sky......perfect gardening weather. As soon I arrived I let Scruffy out for her run and started watering my garden. I had taken lots of water from home in the big blue bottles. Tomorrow morning I will see if I can pay the community well fees here in town. Then I can start to get water from the well with my water tank.
I was so happy to see that my 5 coloured Swish Chard sprouted, as also my lettuce and endive. Soon I hope to see my carrots popping up. All plants that I put in the garden the last time were doing very well and the herbs are just amazing. I can`t wait to create a beautiful herb, flower and rock garden in a separate area. So much fun! I really should get some roses. I don`t have much luck with roses so far, but I will keep trying.
After all gardens being watered, I had my coffee. Then I remembered that I still had the sunflower pots to empty, as I thought mice ate all the seeds. So I poured the first one empty in a pot, when I was surprised to see little sunflower sprouts! YIPPEEEE! The mice didn`t eat them all. I was happy as a little kid at Christmas. Hahaahaa! So I checked all the little pots, removed the dirt from the top to check for sprouts, and filled it up again with fresh soil. Then I watered them all. I will leave them in here for a few days so they can grow a little more before I find some nice spots to put them in the ground.
After that I had a very unpleasant task to do: setting mole traps. I really dislike to hurt animals, or kill them. But the moles are taking over the land. I think there must be at least 20 and they are busy with making their tunnels everywhere. So I got some traps and had to set them up where the tunnels seem active. I started in the arena and set one up. I`m not handy with stuff like traps. It scares me. I watched many youtube movies about how to set the traps but still I find it nerve wrecking. But I got it done. And as soon it was set, I walked away from it, hoping it wouldn't snap right away.
I was just moving forward to set the second one, when Carol and her 2 friends, Patty and Jacky arrived for a visit. What a nice people! We did a little tour, enjoyed the beautiful view at the hills and the gardens. Of course we had to touch and smell the herbs. Hahaha! We sat on the little deck by the camper and had a cinnamon bun and something to drink. Patty was unpacking some things from the car and Carol explained to me that she would give a `cleansing` of LPine Meadow. How nice was that! I was very exited about it.
Patty was holding a drum towards the sun. I thought she started already, but no. The drum was a little damp so she was drying it in the sun. Hahaha. I thought that was funny as I was watching her so serious. LOL Patty had put down a blanket with all kinds of things on it. She asked each of us to put something on the blanket that had value to us. I put down Ron`s wedding ring, that I wear with mine together since Ron passed. I wanted him to be part of this through his wedding ring. He always told me he never liked to wear a wedding ring, except this one. He always had it on, until he got sick and lost so much weight that the ring would fall off his finger. That is when I started to wear it.
Patty took the drum and started to walk around the yard and the gardens, playing the drum which gave a beautiful warm deep bom bom bom bom sound. Patty returned to the blanket, and invited us to stand around it. Patty started to talk. I don`t know what to call it, but she talked to the ancestors, mother earth and father earth, she talked about the dreams each of us had and asked for some help with that. She also got a little aggressive, pounding her drum stick at the ground, saying that people should be more kind and not hurting each other. She said it in a different way , but that is what I got from it. She also sang a beautiful song. Don`t remember what it was about, but it was very nice.
Then she asked us to pick a card from the blanket. There were several cards spread out with the `face` down. I don`t remember well what the cards said of Carol and Jacky. But I do remember that the cards they took, really fit to them. Patty took a card that said Energy. I thought that was very fitting, because I could feel all that good energy she carried and spread out here now. When we just started I noticed that one card blew towards the camper on a gust of wind. I was drawn to that card, so I picked that card. The card was called Inspiration. It said also something about being very creative. It was amazing that the card was so right for me. After each of us took a card, Patty would read from a little book some more about the meaning of the card. I wish I could remember it all exactly, but I can`t. I only remember it was just all so true. Amazing.
On the blanket were different musical instruments. There was a `frog`, and if you would go over it with the little wooden stick, it would sound like a real frog! So cool! There was a mandolin, kind of castanets or spoons, a sort of roll that made the sound of thunder and another one that would make the sound of rain. We all took an instrument and Patty had put on some music from the car stereo. We walked or danced while making music together. It was SO much fun! Scruffy wasn't sure what to think about all this though. She got a little confused, barked a little bit, but then she got used to it and laid down in the shade. If someone would have come into the yard that moment, I`m sure they would have thought we were doing witch dances. Hahahaha!
It was a great visit and I`m very happy I have met Jacky and Patty. I really hope they will come for a visit again as soon the cabin is build. Carol, Jacky and Patty.....thank you so much for a wonderful time together! And Patty, thank you for cleansing my acreage. That was a wonderful gift.
After everyone left, I went to finish my unpleasant job of trap setting. I was walking around the pasture, looking for a fresh mole hill, when I suddenly felt surrounded with so much love. Ron was very close by. I always feel him around but now it was very intense. It was wonderful. I continued with the traps until I had them all set and then went home. I wonder if I will get any moles. There are places that I remember seeing mole hills for the last two years now. With fresh soil dug up, I assume those are main tunnels and still in use. A couple of traps are set right on those. We just have to wait and see what happens.
