Today it was cooled off a lot. It was the perfect day for more planting. I still had seedlings. I planted out peppers, white and red cabage, melon and pumpkin. I had to create two more little garden rows to give the cabage and melon a nice spot with lots of room to grow. I did the same system as with the 4th garden. Let’s hope it works. I also had to add more soil on the potatoes. The rain from before pressed the soil and some of the potatoes were showing. But they are covered now again. I also found my rhubarb that I grew 2 summers ago. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the leafs. Right away I ‘blocked’ it off with some of the left over 2x6 wood, and added a good layer of garden soil. While I was at it, I checked if my raspberries came also back and yes, they did! So also there some soil added. I have more sprouts here in my town back yard, so I can take those and plant some more. I hope the added soil will provide some extra food for the plants. But I will have to get some fertilizer that will go in water, so it will come to the roots. It’s amazing how green everything is now. I love this part of Spring. It goes so fast. It’s unbelievable that in only a few weeks time, it went from freezing and grey trees to beautiful warm weather and green trees. Late afternoon Paul wanted to go fishing and so we did. I don’t say no to fishing. LOL We went to a few spots at the Whitesand River but ended up at the Dam again. We didn’t catch a thing, but I saw a huge pike in the water. He ignored my lure that passed by him when I was reeling in. Paul had one on and lost it, and a few times fish would follow his lure. But they were just not biting good. Still we had so much fun. I enjoyed the sound of the Red Winged Blackbird. A male was calling and showing off to a female and it was fun to watch him. The river has still a very strong current and the water goes so fast. Another month and that will slow down and then it would be great to put a boat in and fish from there. Paul and I went fishing for 4 hours. Time just flies when you’re having fun. I took a photo of my truck. I really think it should have a good wash. LOL So much dust from the dirt roads. No work on the cabin on Monday. The crew had to go to Hudson Bay to finish a job there. I hope that they can work on my cabin Tuesday. I did like to be at my acreage today without the noise of the generator and tools though. It was just a perfect peaceful day.
I just notice that I can do a slideshow for photo's here on my blog. So trying that out. It's much easier to put photo's in this way plus I do believe you can see the pictures better. Enjoy!
