Today I went to see my horses. I didn’t see them for a long time, because too busy. Right away when I came in the barn yard, all seven horses came to the gate. So cute! After saying hello to the whole herd, I let my girls into the barn yard and gave them both a good brush, while they were eating from some hay. The weather was really nice and warm. I tried the new saddle I bought for Flicka. Unfortunately it doesn’t fit so I will return it and get another one. It was so nice to be with Flicka and Freya again. I do believe they were happy to see me too. They stayed hanging around when Carol and I were talking even though there was green grass further away from us.
When I came home, soon rain started. It got worse and worse and changed into a big thunder storm. Then it stopped, but later in the afternoon another thunderstorm came through. I texted Paul who was working on the acreage with the building crew. They would start the floor today. For some reason the welder couldn’t or wouldn’t come out to the acreage, so now they would do it in a different way, with steel straps. I am wondering though...if this is possible, why didn’t we do that right away instead of waiting for a week for a welder? Waste of valuable time. Oh well. They started now and that is the main thing.
Paul took Scruffy this morning, which was great. It’s nice for her to be out there. But it got really hot and when they came back to town to pick up the insulation I bought yesterday, he brought her back home. The insulation wasn’t in stock though. I had no idea it wasn’t. Somehow I missed that part. I thought it could be picked up whenever we were ready. But it will come next week. So they still build the floor and will insulate it later from underneath. I have to think what I want to do for the deck part. Probably just treated wooden planks. So they didn’t cover that part yet. But the floor is done. Now I hope it won’t rain too much. I do have tarps, so maybe we can cover it when needed. I’m exited to go out tomorrow and see the result. I’m glad it rained today. My plants had their water and it saved me a drive. Yay!
