Last Thursday I had to put Polly asleep at the vet.
She had seizures and a temperature of 41.5 C. The vet couldn’t do anything for her anymore.
I had put flea drops on her in the morning. I always used these flea drops and never had any problem. The vet wasn’t sure if it was the cause, but it is possible that she got an allergic reaction this time.
I found Polly in the afternoon at the vegetable gardens while she was in seizure.
She was in fact all gone already and didn’t hear me or was aware of me.
It is a terrible loss. She was a present from Ron, and that made the loss double so hard. Polly was born on September 14, 2002 and I got her for my birthday that year as a 5 week old kitten. She was 13 years old when she passed.
I buried her near the flower garden. She loved to hang out there, catching mice and birds and then give them to me. I made a nice little grave. While I was burying her, Taz and Dizzy came over to sit and watch for a while. Hunter came later when Polly was buried already.
She was a very sweet cat and I’m glad she could spend her last summer and fall as a farm cat. I was surprised she adapted so well to our move to the acreage and I was happy she really enjoyed her life here. Always running, playing, going on adventures around the yard and in the woods, or laying in the sun on the deck.
I miss her content purring while sleeping on a chair or on the couch.
She had a good life and was very loved by her humans.
Yesterday, October 24, was my birthday. I celebrated it with my dear son and dear friends Carol, Melva and David. They have spoiled me terribly. Paul brought a gorgeous cake, David brought ice cream and Carol and Melva brought all kinds of yummy goodies.
I got such a great presents too!
David, Carol, Melva and Paul, thank you all so much for giving me a wonderful birthday. It was awesome!
This morning I woke up around 5.30 am. I made coffee and then went outside to feed the farm cats and get my coffee cream out of the cooler. To my surprise it had snowed! Not much, but around 1 cm. What a beautiful sight. I love it!
Now lets hope I will stay say that in 3 months.:-)
I got some trouble editing the photo's so no text. :-( Maybe I can get it done later.
