Today is Remembrance Day in Canada.
A day to take a moment to honour.
Sunday Paul and David came over for a visit. We played Upwords. It’s a kind of Scrabble, but with this game you can stack letters to change the words on the board. What a fun game! At one time we all had the same score. Hahaha!
After our game we had a nice supper. I had made a vegetable stew and it tasted wonderful.
It was a great visit with lots of laughs. David also brought me more water bottles. What a surprise! Thank you so much David!
I have enough water bottles now to have a good supply of water during winter.
I have tried out the water system with the horses. Well, they loved the grass in the little area that I had closed up until now and didn’t care less about me pouring water from the deck into the water bowl. Hahaha! They have played with the water hose during summer so much, that now they are not scared for some splashing.
Monday was supposed to be a nice sunny day, but all day it stayed foggy. Only saw the sun coming out for maybe a half hour, then the fog covered it again.
I did lots of outdoor chores because the weather was mild. I spread out more old straw in the big pasture, cut up lots of kindling and cleaned up around the yard. Also spend some time with the horses.
Tuesday I woke up and there was snow on the ground. It always makes things so still and I think it’s beautiful.
The roads were not so great though, I heard later on the radio. Because before the snow, there was freezing rain. When I removed the snow from the truck, the windows were covered in ice and I had to scrape it off.
In the afternoon I went to visit Sheri and she showed me how to do some leather work. It was lots of fun and nice to be creative.
The weather is still really mild and I’m very happy with it. I hoped for more snow so I can X country ski, but I suppose I have to wait a little longer for that.
