Ok , I'm trying something that hopefully at least work for the text on this blog. I'm writing it first in my notes and then copy and paste it into the blog. If I loose it then at least I have the text saved. :)
Mother's day was awesome. I was surprised with beautiful cards and Paul spend all day with me. He helped with fencing and after a nice lunch we went fishing at the river. So much fun!
Thank you Paul, for making this day so special.
Kelly, my hoof trimster, came and Flicka and Freya have nice feet again. They did awesome and stood willingly and quiet.
After trimming Kelly met Yentl. Yentl had walked off into the pasture but came right away when I called her. She targeted the hand of Kelly. So cute!
Carol had a Chop Wood, Carry Water weekend to rebuild her little barn into a nice light gathering space. It was so much fun to work with a group of friends. When we got the two walls out after lots of thinking and pounding and pushing , it was worth a celebration dance! The food was awesome and the company just wonderful.
My gardens are all done and I just have to water and weed and watch everything growing. Peas and corn are popping up and my indoor started plants took roots in the ground.
I made another potato garden because I had bought too many seed potatoes. I have to remember that 5 pounds of seed potatoes are plenty and 10 is too much. Hahaha.
Paul and I did more fencing at the winter pasture and got the last wooden posts in that I had laying around. Alongside the driveway its still have the step in posts for now.
I made two rope gates with handles and only one strand of rope needed. Then it's all done and ready for the horses to graze.
Right now I let them mow my driveway.
:)
Sheri and I spend every day and few hours with our horses. We help each other when needed and it's just safer to have someone around when riding and easier doing things like taking two horses out on a walk.
Plus it's just a lot of fun!
I've rode Flicka a couple of times now and it was so much fun.
Freya is doing great for letting me clean out her hooves while being loose in tbe arena with no halter on. Love it!
Yentl is doing great. I can now touch all of her front and her back and belly and front legs. She is such an eager student and if she sees me she quickly walks to the little pen, ready for a session of clicker training. She will nicker when I leave the pen or stop the training as of saying hey , I'm not done yet. Let's do more! So cute.
The weather is warm and I hope it will rain soon again. Things need a good soak. :)
I think Spring jumped into Summer very fast. I enjoy all the green around and listening to the various birds singing and watch them gather hairs and hay for their nests.
The full moon last night was beautiful .
The mosquitos are less fun , especially on my evening walks with Scruffy and the cats. Also tick season is annoying but oh well. Those are the joys of summer too . Hahaha! :)
