Last night I was watching my show The Onedin Line on youtube. I thought 1 episode and then to bed. Suddenly I heard loud noises outside so I went to the deck to see what was going on. There was Flicka in front of the cabin, trying to get into the crunchy bin and Freya walking around like she owns the place. I put on my boots and coat and took my flashlight.
Freya got startled when Scruffy ran down the ramp and she ran toward the hills in the back. I called her and said STOP! And she stopped. I called her to come and then took the hay in the tarp to the arena. They both followed me right in. They were good for tbe night with a lot of hay.
This morning I went to check the fence in tbe back of the winter pasture and was shocked to see the damage. I didn't see the fence rope and had to go through the snow way above my knees to follow the fence line to find out where the rope broke. Well I found out. A Skidoo went right through the fence and broke the electric rope and many step in posts. What a mess.
I found the rope but will need to figure out how to fix it. The ground is frozen so its hard to put in new step in posts.
I don't get mad easy but this morning I sure was! My horses could have been hurt when tangled in the loise rope or worse. Skidoos should stay on their own land or in the ditches and trails meant for it. Stupid people.
Here some photos of the Skidoo tracks where it went through the fence.
Also a photo of Paul at the Edmonton mall. He went there for the weekend. :)
One picture is from the ravine in Edmonton where Paul and I used to go for walks with Scruffy.
Oh and the snow plough came today. Got a clean driveway and yard again. :-)
