I told before that Paul and I started with the stairs last Thursday afternoon. Setting up the stringers and putting a few steps on it is as far we could get.
Yesterday I finished it. We have stairs now. YAY! I discovered that making the holes for the screws a tiny bit bigger, there was less problems to get the screws into the stair stringer. (Paul and I had lots of problems with that, so we had to hammer the screws into it. ) It went very fast with the bigger holes and it still holds it strong. No wobbling.
Dizzy kept me company all the time. It was blowing SO hard, that it scared her a little. So she would sit next to me, in front of me, between my feet, on my back....all places a cat can find to sit , she sat. Hahaha! She was a little in the way but I understood why she was so scared. That wind was crazy! By the time I was done, the wind went down so it was less scary for Dizzy.
While I was working on the stairs the swallows came back. Didn’t see them in the afternoon. There were 4 of them and in the cabin they were fighting about that spot where we removed the nest! It’s hard to make a photo of swallows fighting in flight so that didn’t work out, even though I tried. One swallow hit one of the windows and fell. Dizzy was right there to pick it up and take it outside. She put it on the ground, and then it flew off. Of course Dizzy got very exited. I’m sure this was her first bird she caught. And it won’t be her last, knowing cats. I can’t wait to close it all up so the swallows will give up to nest here.
But I do understand why they want to nest in it. It is a BEAUTIFUL place! LOL
