What a week!
Sunday Sheri and I had supper together. I brought macaroni with veggies and Sheri had a wonderful desert. All was yummy!
Monday afternoon I went to Carols place to feed and walk her 3 dogs. Laddie is the ladt addition and he is a bit shy. I gave all dogs a dog treat and that broke the ice for Laddie. :) It was a beautiful sunny day and we had a nice walk. Lovely dogs!
Tuesday and Wednesday there was freezing rain and that turned into a snow blizzard. Lots of snow! Nice day to take it easy and relax with a good book by the warm stove. :-)
Later in the afternoon on Wednesday the sun came out. The wind was very strong with gusts to 50 km per hour.
When I went to the devk to get some wood, I got startled by a very loud noise.
I looked up and there were more then hundred crows flying around the yard. They were forming a cloud for a while, then spread and disappear in trees. A few seconds later they would form a cloud again. And they were very loud. Hahaha! The next evening they were again around the yard. After that I didn't see them anymore.
Never seen so many crows together. Awesome.
Thursday was a gorgeous day. Sunshine and not much wind. I spend lots of time outside of course. When I was putting hay out for the horses, I noticed a skunk in the woods. I said hello and he looked up at me for a few seconds, then went on. No panic or worried. So cute.
In the afternoon I saw the skunk again and I was taking pictures until he disappeared into the woods.
Later I was splitting wood and saw the skunk coming from the woods into the yard. Same time Scruffy saw him to and rsn towsrds the skunk. I called her back but she's pretty deaf and didn't hear me. So yeah. Scruffy got sprayed. Ugh what a terrible smell.
I took her for a walk in the fresh deep snow and that must have helped. The smell was a little less. The nect day the smell was as good as gone. Only had to endure it for the evening. Hahaha.
Funny was that the skunk was not really scared. After he sprayed he just walked calmly away. The cats saw him too but kept distance. Very wise. :)
Friday Sheri went with me to the dentist. I had a tooth infection for a couple of weeks and got antibiotics. But the tooth needed to get out. It was quickly done and with the feeling my cheek was 3 times bigger then usual I left the dentist office.
After that Sheri and I went to Melville to see a pony that I saw for sale.
I bought her! :)
She is a small pony of 11 hh and probably around 3 or 4 years old. She is a grey and in time she will turn white.
She is very shy and skiddish. The owner said he got her from the neighbor and he said she was never trained. not even halter broke.
We couldn't get near her at all. The owner had her in a small pen for us to see her but she was not happy with all the attention. I really limed her looks on the ad pictures but needed to know if she was sound. Well, from what we could see she was in perfect health. Just scared.
So I paid the owner and sometime next week Sheri and I are going to pick her up.
Im very happy! I am going to do all her training with the clicker of course. I'm sure that this will help to win her trust. I'm also convinced that Flicka and Freya will help me in this process.
I named the new pony Yentl. It means noble ,aristocratic.
Today I came home in town and the stairs to the basement was blocked with a chair. I called Paul and he asked me to come because he had something to show me.
Oh my. He got a dog! Hahaha. And what a cutie! She is a Samoyed cross and just one big ball of heavy fur. Beatiful. And a real sweetheart.
Tomorrow Paul will come to the cabin and he will take her. See how Scruffy does with her. If Paul has to go oyt for a longer period of time then he can bring her here if she can get along with Scruffy and the cats.
Busy week indeed!
And it's snowing again for a change. Hahaha. April showers and flurries. :)
