Today the crew came out again and sheeted the last 1.5 walls. Paul and his friend Brandon did a lot of the sheeting this weekend so there wasn’t much to do for the crew for that part. Paul, Brandon and I sheeted 2.5 walls. Paul also finished the deck and it looks awesome! He did a wonderful job. The crew also put all house wrap up the walls, and finished the roof. I noticed that the crew brought 4 of the 5 windows so that was great. I miss one small window but I suppose I can pick that one up myself. Also still waiting for 2 doors, but hopefully they will be in this week as I ordered those a long time ago.
The scaffolds were all gone. Wondering how the back /side windows and back door have to be put in without those. Paul said probably we can do that from the back of the truck. Otherwise we just have to rent scaffolds for a few hours. So the cabin is almost done for outside work. Things left to do are : windows and doors put in, putting up the siding (have to get a date set for that job, because this kind of siding can not lay too long, it will warp), filling up all the cracks in the walls with wood filler (where Paul and I worked there were NO cracks at all, but where the crew worked, there are cracks showing, so we have to close those). The floor needs insulation put in and new plastic put on. The crew had to cut open all the plastic weeks ago, when rain water was collecting underneath. That has to be fixed by the crew, because they didn’t seal the floor or covered it with plastic to protect it from the rain. But the major jobs are done so that is great.
The cats are doing great. Taz was away for a day, but she came back. She used to do that, wandering around, but she always comes back. Dizzy is doing really great. She is so playful and hunts dragonflies a lot. Hunter has a sore foot. She is favouring her right front foot. It is not broken, and she does lean on it sometimes. I hope in a few days she should be ok again. Everyday Paul or me are there to care for the cats. Still no time to work in the garden. It was a busy couple of days. Carol and I had a retreat last weekend We had a wonderful group of people, and our horses were so wonderful again. It was a great success. It’s so much fun and so rewarding and grateful work to do the retreats. Now the day after tomorrow my dear friend Rovena from the US will come over for a visit. We both are looking forward to this so much. When I went to her place last winter, we had the best time. We did training with her horses, talked about anything and everything and laughed so much it hurt our bellies. LOL So yes, it will be awesome to have her here. Can’t wait to see her.
