We had a beautiful week. Lots of sunshine and wind, and that really helped melting the snow. I’ve been to the acreage a few times this past week. The driveway and yard are all clean and dry. When I was there yesterday, there was only a little snow left in the most shady places, but that will be gone soon too. I cleaned up more in the cabin and brought in some water. Also I started cleaning up the yard and got some kindling ready for when I want to use the wood stove. But so far it was lovely to have a cool cabin, as it was really warm in the yard. While I was having a coffee on the deck, I noticed some real long spider threads floating in the wind. It was an amazing sight! They must have been like 10 to 20 meters long, dancing on the wind from the tree tops on the south side to the trees at the east side. Beautiful to watch. On the deck a little spider was also trying to make a web from the roof to the deck. The wind was bouncing him (or her) really hard but it didn't` care about it. It held on tight on the thread, then climbing up to the start of the web at the roof. When I looked a few hours later, this little spider had made more threads, and it started to look like a spider web now. In the air were lots of little flies and I bet the spiders are building their webs to get them. The warm weather gets all the bugs out now. We had no night frost for a few days, but there will be in the coming week. That will help to slow down the bugs for a bit I hope. When the wind went down for a little while, I enjoyed the quietness. Living in town all winter, made me almost forget the sound of real stillness.
