Saturday evening it started with dark clouds coming in. First slow, but then the wind picked up and the clouds moved faster and faster. Lightning and thunder accompanied the rain that soon changed into hail. In no time my yard was covered with little pieces and balls of ice. The wind was crazy. The hail changed into pouring rain. Wonderful! Finally rain! Well, there was lots of it. it stormed and rained all evening until way after midnight.
In the morning everything was damp and it was still warm. At 6 am it was 19 C. Another hot hot day. And more thunderstorms in the evening with rain and maybe hail. I’m happy with all that rain. The gardens love it, and it’s great for the grass and the forest.
The horses grazed the second area down, so I moved the fence up again. But again it’s almost eaten down, so ready to move it up again.
Friday I had a visit of Wendy and her lovely daughter. Wendy just opened up a local craft & art store that also sells home grown vegetables, 5 miles west of Duck Mountain Provincial Park on highway 57. It’s open every Saturday from 10 am until 4 pm. She sells art from local artists, and she came to pick up my horse rhythm beads, tassels and mane dangles. I had a large box full of them so lots of choice for costumers. It was a great visit. I can’t wait to go out to see the store. I feel so honoured that Wendy likes to display my rhythm bead art work in her new store. Thanks Wendy! Saturday afternoon Katelyn came to trim my horse’s hooves. She is a barefoot trimmer and does a great job. Even with this heat and dealing with Freya who was behaving snotty. Hahaha. But they are all done and have beautiful feet again. I also sold my 5th wheel. I have no need for it anymore and rather would like to build a small sturdy shed where I can store things. Never can have enough sheds. Hahaha. Because I can’t do much with this heat, I read a lot. I finish one book after another. Just love it! My own personal TV. I finished Windmills of the Gods by Sidney Sheldon. Great novel! He is a real good writer. It’s about a woman that becomes the ambassador of Romania. She is married with a wonderful man and they have two children. Anyway, don’t want to spoil the story for those who never read it. But it is absolutely worth reading. Now I’m reading ‘Silver’, by Hilma Wolitzer. Story about a married couple of middle age and their struggle with each other. Well written and in a very different way. I love it. One time I was sitting on the deck, when butterfly flew on my chair, next to my leg. I was scared that if I moved my leg, I would crush it, so I picked it up carefully and threw it in the air to let it fly away. Well, no way. Flew right back on the chair again. So I picked it up again, but same thing happened again. What a silly butterfly! i got my camera from the cabin, and when I came back at the deck the butterfly was on the window screen. With ease I could take some photo’s. How cute is this?
