The crew came out Saturday to work on the roof. All beams are on there now, so wanted to share some photo’s. I couldn’t be there because I went to assist at a workshop of my friends Equine Assisted Program. Carol and I had a Mother & Daughter retreat which was a huge success. Great group of people and the weather was perfect. Paul was also working at the cabin and I’m so happy he made pictures that I can share to show the progress of my tiny cabin.
Today 3 people were working again on the cabin. When I arrived in the yard, the fire was going in the sand spot. They were probably eating hot dogs roasted on the fire. I asked them NOT to use the bigger pieces of wood, as I am collecting them and want to use them for myself. I came later in the afternoon and know that the crew was there since morning, and I don’t think much was done that I could actually see. Maybe they did the left side over hang pieces but I can't remember. I noticed that there was scaffolds set up on the ground so they could reach the edge of the roof.
One of the guys started with the deck. I gave him the bag with special deck screws, in the color of the deck. Lucky I was there, because he was using normal screws. He only had put in a couple so I told him to leave those in and use the special ones from now on.
I watered my garden (everything is growing so wonderful!) and checked the traps. (nothing in there. I may have different kind of underground critters so bought a gopher trap when I came back in town and will see next time if that will get anything) I also filled up the fridge in the 5th wheel with juice boxes, bottles of pop and bottles of water for the crew, and put ice in to keep it cool. I had bought some snacks for them too. When I left they were just busy to put up a piece of wood at the front of the roof. So no pictures of today, as there was nothing new to see. But so far it starts to look like a real cabin!
