What a beautiful day we had again. It got 23 c with a nice breeze and all day a perfect blue sky. Couldn’t ask for more!
On my way I noticed the dugout, that I always pass, had a flock of geese in it. Every few days there is a different flock that rest there and then continue their flight to the south. When I stopped the truck to make a picture, two swans just flew over and I could get a quick picture of them.
It’s amazing how the landscape has changed in the last few weeks. The bright yellow canola fields are gone. They are all swathed and drying to be harvest. I pass fields full of straw and hay bales are waiting to be stored. A beautiful sight. The colors of the leafs are amazing. The bright greens changed into different yellows and orange which create a beautiful contrast with the evergreen trees and blue sky. It’s a joy to drive to the acreage. :-)
Today I started with the bedroom ceiling but oh boy, that is NOT easy! I knew I couldn’t put up big sheets of osb by myself, so I just made smaller pieces of the one sheet. It worked but to saw the pieces was a little dangerous. There was so much distance between me and the saw, because of the width of the sheet. I did it but it was a little scary. LOL I got two pieces up and then decided to continue with something a little easier for now. I may have to make the pieces even smaller to make the sawing safer.
I started with the kitchen walls and put up the lower sheets all up to the west window. I would measure two pieces at once, then start the generator and cut them, and then shut off the generator until I needed it again. No use to keep it running while I’m putting the sheets up. Just a waste of gas right? A few sheets would almost not fit after I cut them, but I have a good hammer and with some pounding they would fit perfect. LOL
The time just flew by and once the drill battery started to go, I knew it was time to call it a day. I spend some time with my horses, who stayed close by all day. They like to keep an eye on me, just in case I come and bring them some carrots. LOL It is so nice to look out of the window sometimes during work, and see them in the pasture. They are doing so well and are totally adjusted to our routine. After the horses it was care time for Dizzy and Taz. I fed them and gave them fresh water and of course the so needed cuddles. They love their attention. I think all animals are very happy with this beautiful weather.
Tomorrow it is official Fall. The day and night will be each around 12 hours long. It’s a little strange to wake up around 5 and no sunlight yet! When did THAT happen??? LOL Better enjoy these last longer days before the short winter days come. :-)
