This morning first thing I did was getting some groceries. When Paul came home, we went to the building center in town and picked up insulation for the roof, 16 pieces 2 by 4's of 12 feet long and sheets of osb to cover the ceiling after insulating. It was a big load but lucky Paul got a new truck so with 2 trucks it went fine.
At the acreage we unloaded everything, had a quick lunch and then we drove to Carols. I needed to pick up all my horsy things. It was a lot and the two trucks were fully loaded. Back at the acreage unloading again. It was so great Paul could help me out today. Even though he had a sore hand. Last night he was doing dishes, and cut himself in the hand with a glass that broke. It was a deep cut and he needed 4 stitches! Poor kid. Lucky young people heal fast. I told him not to carry heavy things and to favor his wounded hand, which he did. When his truck was unloaded he went home and I carried on with putting stuff in its place. Yay. I have my clicker again. LOL I can use the mouth click sound, but the real clicker is good to hear for the horses. The sound is always the same and my mouth click isn't.
I needed to do some dishes here too so I did that. After I was done I warmed up some beet soup I had taken from home. I ate it with a fresh made salad from my own garden. One little onion, 3 kinds of lettuce, and the last cucumber. It was all delicious! Of course I had a nice glass of wine with it.
After supper I sat on the deck, enjoying another beautiful sunset. I made a little shelter for the cats and Dizzy owns it now. Hahaha! Poor Taz. She can go in but I don't think she likes it so crowded.
I was sitting on the deck, when suddenly a humming bird flew right in front of my face, looked at me, and ZOOOOF, flew away again. That was so amazing! I never saw one so upclose. The sound was like a giant bumble bee. LOL It was a dark greenish gray color.
The horses are doing great. It was the whole day a pleasant 20c with a good wind. Kept all the bugs away. Carol had given me some of the minerals and a salt block. I put it out for them and called them. They came running right away. They loved the stuff. Oh and before when I arrived with all the stuff from Carols, the horses ran with the truck all the way to the end of the pasture. So cute!
I think they settled in really fast!
Another night at the cabin. It's so nice here. Of course it is all still very primitive. But slowly things will change. I don't mind it at all. I sleep well, eat well, and enjoy the company of the cats, horses and dog. And of course the beautiful nature all around me. There is a perfect half moon in a clear sky, surrounded by thousands of stars. Breath taking. It's very quiet outside. And cooling of fast too! Within an hour it went from 20c to 12c in the cabin. Whew! Lucky I don't like high heat. Hahaha!
This is the first time I do my blog in the cabin. Everything works great. My lights are solar lights. Laptop works on battery that was fully charged and internet goes through my phone. While on internet, I also keep my phone charged from the battery of my laptop. Technique is amazing. :-)
