It's raining quite a bit the past few days.
It's great for the gardens and for the trees. The trees are recovering from the caterpillars and beautiful new leaves are growing. It's like Spring!
My pea plants have lots of flowers and the first pods are forming. The beans are in full bloom too as are the pumpkins. Rain is so great to get things growing.
On my walks with the dogs I found lots of wild flowers blooming. One of them is I think the tiger Lilly. It's the flower of Saskatchewan.
The swallows are sitting on their nest so I'm sure there are eggs. Can't wait to see the baby swallows.
At the well there is also a swallows nest and I could see them being fed. Cute to watch!
Sammy goes with me to the well now. She loves the drives and is good in the truck. Just looking around. When a doe and buck ran over the road, she just watched but didn't bark . But she sure was excited seeing them running. :)
I have nice rides on Flicka and spend lots of time with all horses for brushing, cleaning out feet , putting on bug repellent and just cuddle with them.
Yentl is doing really well . She halters like a pro and the leading sessions are going so well. She is a pleasure to work with.
I started a new puzzle and even though it's only 500MB pieces, it's a difficult one. A real challenge!
I'm trying out a new kind of art with leftover pieces of osb sheets. I see things in the patterns of the pressed wood and colour those things to accentuate them. It's fun to do and I'm happy with the result of my first piece.
I just have to frame it.
Paul and I took down the shelter next to the house. He brought two truck loads of junk to the dump. I'm glad that thing is gone because it was falling apart and the fabric tore on all sides.
A few things I took back to the cabin.
We had it done in two hours and between the rain showers too!
We need to bring one more load of junk to the dump from the backyard but we do that another day.
I keep busy here with weeding , working with the horses , walking and playing with the dogs and caring for the cats and my cabin chores.
I read lots, write with my penfriends, puzzling and doing some art when I feel inspired.
Sometimes I watch a movie on netflix. Paul told me he really liked The Martian so I watched that. And yes , it was really good. :)
The lady of the library told me there would be a market starting some time this summer right at the parking lot of the library. People can just park their car and sell whatever they have to sell. This is great because I will probably have lots of potatoes in fall so I can sell those. Plus I could sell my art too and anything else I have.
I can also swap books. There is a table in the library and people donate books on there. I have lots of books I can donate or just swap. Great because I don't have the space to keep books.
The quilt course I'm interested in, will be kept during winter. But I got the number of a lady that might help me started with quilting.
Summer days are going great. Very busy and time just fly by. I can't believe June is almost over already!
The really hot days are coming near.
I've cleaned out one of my black garbage cans and filled it up with water. As soon the rain is gone and the sun comes out this water will be warmed up fast. I noticed that when I kept garden water in there. It was very warm after one day. Perfect for a sponge bath or doing laundry. :)
