 Canada Day.

Today it is the 1st of July, which is Canada Day. It’s also the 12th wedding anniversary of me and my beloved husband, who lost his battle to cancer and passed away  October 15, 2013. So sad he can’t be here anymore to celebrate our special day. But he’s still around, always keeping an eye out for me and Paul.  I’m also convinced he is proud of Paul and me, seeing how far we got today with the cabin!

We got the west side finished for the biggest part. Only the top part has to be done but we wait with that until all the sides are done with the bigger sheets. We almost got the east side finished too! Yes, we’re getting a hang of it now and it goes so fast. We learn more and more as we go, how to do things more easy. We are a good team together. Paul and I don’t have much carpenter skills, but I believe we’re getting better every day. LOL   Paul discovered lots of mushrooms growing at the edge of the woods. I took a few pictures because they are so big and beautiful. My potato’s starting to bloom. YAY! After all the rain we had, now the heat is coming. It will get VERY hot the coming days, so the gardens will grow like crazy now.   It was a wonderful day, with beautiful weather and we got lots of work done. Now time to rest.

In this blog I will share the process of building a small solar and wind powered cabin and the creating of bird, herb and vegetable  and fruit gardens.
